Default Apple’s Greg Joswiak Talks Apple Pay, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Supply and More

Re/code’s Walt Mossberg and Ina Fried held a recent interview session with Greg Joswiak, Apple’s VP of iPhone marketing. They spoke about many topics including Apple Pay, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus supply, the Apple Watch, and the iOS 8.0.1 update. When discussing about Apple Pay, Joswiak had similar views as Apple CEO Tim Cook, in that those who are looking to be successful in the retail market would accept payments the way consumers prefer to pay. He explained that the reason behind the new mobile payments system is for a more secure way to pay without releasing too much personal information.

As for the new iPhone 6 lineup supply, Joswiak stated that he wasn’t too clear on whether the smaller 4.7-inch device was in higher demand or the larger 5.5-inch device was. However, he noted that the Cupertino-based company was selling everything they were making. When speaking about iOS 8.0.1, this is what he had to say:

It wasn't the software itself, it was the way it was distributed. We're very sorry.
He noted that there was an issue with the distribution of the software as opposed to a problem with the software itself. Last but not least, when Mossberg spoke about the Apple Watch possibly being extremely expensive, Joswiak only noted that having a wide price range would allow customers many options and to pick the best one for them.
