On Monday, the Dropbox-owned Mailbox e-mail client for iOS received an update that added support for the new resolutions of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as add new features. The latest version available in the iOS App Store right now is version 2.3.1 you can grab this update under the Updates tab in your App Store application if you're an existing user, or you can follow this App Store link if you want to download it manually.

In addition to the support for the new retina HD displays, users get a couple of new features. For example, users can now customize their own swipe gestures for the application to make it tailored to their usage needs. The update also improves the application's notifications in iOS 8 and fixes issues with e-mails rendering.

Mailbox has also just publicly released a beta version of its Mailbox e-mail client for Mac OS X, which at this point in time, is a free download from the Mailbox App Web site. A direct link to the Mac OS X beta software is available at this link.

The news of the public beta was shared by the Mailbox App Twitter account earlier this afternoon:

If you're a Mailbox user, either for iOS or Mac OS X, go and grab the new software!
