It has been recently reported that Chinese model Liu Wen will be on the cover of Vogue China’s November issue, sporting the highly anticipated Apple Watch. The cover previews the Chinese model wearing the 18-karat yellow gold Apple Watch with a red buckle band. Inside Vogue, Wen is seen wearing other editions of the wearable device. Apparently Angelica Cheung, Vogue China’s editor-in-chief met with Apple CEO Tim Cook and VP of Design Jony Ive before the September 9th announcement, to talk about the two company’s partnership.

Cheung stated that she was “impressed by their thoughts and passion for the project” and felt it "combined technology, style, and functionality and were very modern." Thus, she decided the wearable device was a good match for Vogue China. According to The Business of Fashion, Cheung said:

Chinese people are actually very digitally minded and we embrace new technology and digital products more easily than perhaps people elsewhere. We are an ancient country but at the same time a very young country when it comes to fashion and new products. We love to embrace everything that is new, modern and positive. All these convince us that the intersection of fashion and technology is a natural progression, not something alien.
China is a major market for Apple, and the debut of the unreleased device on a major magazine company only seconds that fact. The wearable device is looking at a 2015 launch date and Apple is definitely looking to promote the device as much as they can.
