Default Apple Continues to Take Number 1 Spot as the World's Most Valuable Brand

It has been reported in Interbrand’s 2014 ‘Best Global Brands’ report that Apple has taken the top spot as the world’s best brand for the second year in a row. The Cupertino-based company took the number one spot away from Coca-Cola last year. According to The New York Times, Interbrand is a New York based brand consulting firm that valued Apple at a $118.9 billion company this year. This number is higher than last year’s value due to Apple’s recent iPhone 6 lineup success as well as the upcoming Apple Pay feature and wearable device, the Apple Watch.

Not only is Apple using devices to broaden its penetration, it's also credibly extending into new spaces. With the unveiling of Apple Watch-reportedly more capable than any other smartwatch on the market, not least of all in terms of advanced health monitoring-Apple's future will rely heavily on its ability to partner effectively with healthcare companies. CarPlay, giving drivers access to their iPhone's best features in the car, has brought the brand into the automotive space. HomeKit, providing seamless integration between accessories, promises to make our homes smarter. Apple Pay certainly has the potential to become the most powerful payment platform around.
The top 5 spots in the report were Apple, Google, Coca-Cola, IBM, and Microsoft. Google was valued at $107.4 billion, Coca-Cola at $81.6 billion, IBM at $72.2 billion, and last but not least Microsoft at $61.2 billion. Apple’s big time competitor Samsung, was ranked at number 7- which is good news for the Korean-based company because they gained one spot up from last year.

Do you think Apple will continue to take the number 1 spot as the years go by? Let us know below.

I suppose it depends what circle you’re in. I’m very surprised to see Gillette, Vuitton and H&M in there. Also Amazon all the way down at 15?
Love their products but I’m sick of the walled garden/constant upgrade approach now. It’s turned me from one of those that would buy anything Apple as soon as it was announced to one who now asks why I want it and looks at the competition.

What amazes me is the fact that not only did they have the number one spot, but they managed to grow more than any of the other companies.

    Just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!
