Default Tim Cook Talks Environment During 'Climate Week' Event in New York

Apple CEO Tim Cook was busy talking climate change today in New York City.

In the Big Apple to participate in events for the start of "Climate Week," Cook expressed his sincere belief that Apple can play a pivotal role in stabilizing climate change.

How so? By making its products greener and greener -- something the Apple chief says consumers appreciate about his company's products.

"Consumers will vote with their dollars," Cook was quoted by media sources in a Climate Week-related interview today. "There's no one out there that wants the planet to go in the wrong direction or to continue to go in the wrong direction."

Moving forward, Cook pledged that Apple will be as transparent as possible about efforts to be environmentally responsible and reduce Apple's carbon footprint wherever possible.

"We're very secretive about what products we're working on, you may not have noticed," Cook said in jest. "But on something like climate, on human rights, on education, we feel deeply about these. These are at the core of who we are. They are deep in our values. And we know that we will not make enough of a difference if we only solve our little piece of the world."

Well we know your not working on next gen products cuz if you were you wouldn't be mocking Android hardware then copying it several years later.

If Apple cared about the environment, they would stop making mobile phones and close the doors. The toxic byproducts that are created in the manufacturing process of all those parts is a very large knife in the gut of the environment. Timmy Cook is just appealing to his left-wing, hipster, yuppy user-base for cheap applause. Apple is in the tech industry...the leading industry in e-waste...no competition. Either close the doors for the good of the environment, or do what you were made to do; manufacture.

Apple should care about one thing: making devices and hardware that create a business climate of competition and progression.
