On Tuesday, Apple released OS X Yosemite 10.10 developer preview 7 to developers for testing. The release comes approximately two weeks after the release of OS X Yosemite developer preview 6.

The previews allow developers to test the new operating system and its features ahead of being released to the public so that Apple can ensure a smooth public transition from outdated operating systems to the latest one.

OS X Yosemite developer preview 7 likely includes a number of bug fixes ahead of the company's special event on September 9th. Apple is expected to release both OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 to the public shortly after the event. OS X Yosemite includes a truckload of new features for Mac users, which you can read up on at our post here.

Those running OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 6 will find this update under the Updates tab in the Mac App Store.
