Best month ever! That's the message coming to us loud and clear today as the tech giant reflects on what July meant for App Store revenue.

Although most Apple-related headlines today are reflecting reports that the company will unveil the iPhone 6 at a September 9th media event (check out MMi's coverage here), the other big story of the day is that Apple logged record-high revenue for the App Store last month.

Specifically, Apple confirmed to CNBC that the Cupertino-based iDevice maker "saw a record number of customers making transactions" in July on the App Store. No numbers, however, were provided as Apple made that otherwise impressive revelation.

All told, today's news just further clarifies what Apple CEO Tim Cook meant last month during the company's Q3 earnings call -- "I couldn't be happier. This is the best execution of any quarter since I've been at Apple," Cook said following the earnings report.
