Luxury watchmaker TAG Heuerís sales director Patrick Pruniaux, has reportedly been hired by Apple to help market the anticipated iWatch in the upcoming fall. Patrick Pruniaux supposedly also owns Zenith and Hublot, which are all under the LVMH and Jean-Claude River umbrella, according to CNBC. Reports note that Apple tried hiring many employees from Swiss watchmakers but did not have much success in doing so.

River explained that he would not have been very happy if the marketing chief of LVMH left for another watchmaker company, but believes Apple will provide a great experience. It was reported back in March that Apple was looking for Swiss watch makers to help with the new wrist wearing accessory. However, expert watchmakers were hesitant in partnering with Apple because they did not see the potential in smart watches.

Patrick Pruniaux was not just any ordinary sales director, he was the Vice President of Sales and Retail of TAG Heuer. This means the luxury watchmaker had a major loss and Apple received a significant hire. His LinkedIn profile reveals the impressive work he has done in watch and jewelry marketing.
