The design studio responsible for Beats Electronics’ popular hardware styling, Ammunition, announced recently that they would be departing away from the company in the upcoming months as new owner Apple takes over. Robert Brunner, Ammunition’s founder and previous Apple design chief, states in a post on the official blog, that he is ‘thrilled’ about Apple’s purchase of Beats Electronics and Beats Music for $3 billion.

Brunner was first introduced to the Beats project when he worked as his previous company, Pentagram. He has been an important part of Beats since 2006, and he was one of the firsts with Apple ties to meet with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. He was in charge of styling the signature headphones and subsequent audio products including the Beats Pill portable speaker. According to his statement,

Over the next few months, the design for Beats will transition away from Ammunition. It's tough to step down as Chief Designer for a brand I take so much pride in, but it certainly makes it easier knowing we are handing the reigns [sic] over to one of the world's most successful design teams.
