Default Ebay Urges Users to Change Passwords After User Database Attacked

Following an attack to eBay's user database on Wednesday, the company is now urging all users to change their passwords for their own protection. We know many of you guys use eBay, so here's the scoop:

The company notes that the user database contained all of the users' passwords in an encrypted form, but even though they were encrypted, users are still better safe than sorry being that eBay is linked to so many payment methods:

Because your password is encrypted (even we donít know what it is), we believe your eBay account is secure. But we donít want to take any chances. We take security on eBay very seriously, and we want to ensure that you feel safe and secure buying and selling on eBay. So we think itís the right thing to do to have you change your password. And we want to remind you that itís a good idea to always use different passwords for different sites and accounts. If you used your eBay password on other sites, we are encouraging you to change those passwords, too.
In the mean time, the company is working to improve its own security to prevent this from happening again.

If you're using an iOS device, eBay offers a free application for you to browse eBay listings, list your own items, and make purchases. You can download the iPhone and iPod touch version of the application from this App Store link, and you can download the iPad version of the application from this App Store link. You can also visit eBay's Web site at this link.

well after all, ebay MUST have an insurance for damages to third parties and their users database. ( just like any other business in EU at least)
    take care,
