Default No iWatch at Next Month's WWDC, Sources Say

Despite a flurry of rumors in recent weeks, all of which suggest that Apple's iWatch is being actively developed if not manufactured today, it doesn't appear that WWDC will provide a stage for the Apple smartwatch to debut.

And that's a real bummer for Apple fans and investors, all of whom are eager for a dose of old-school Apple innovation in the realm of a new product category - let alone one as white hot as the wearables market.

Sources in the know tel Re/Code that Tim Cook has largely decided against unveiling iWatch at WWDC. If the same sources are correct in other observations, we won't be seeing the new Apple TV at WWDC next month either. And as MMi reported Thursday, Apple has put a lot of their interface teams to work on OS X 10.10, leaving less resources for iOS 8. The end result? Even iOS 8 may not play a big role in next month's event.

Sounds like a whole lot of disappointing news, to be sure. Then again, a lot could change between now and then. Best case scenario, these sources are wrong and Apple dazzles us with something new that's big, bold, and beautiful. Just don't count on it.

Well, yeah. We've seen all these phone mockups, but nothing about a watch whatsoever.

I can't see how they aren't releasing one.

I'm not sure if this means the WWDC is gonna stink or if they just have one heck of a surprise for us. Maybe it's secretly OSXI

Well let's see, no iPhone, no iOS 8, no iWatch, no Apple TV. That leaves OSX and maybe minor Mac upgrades. Yep it's gonna stink. I need something new to waste my little bit of money on but it looks like I'm waiting til October.

Actually there will be iOS 8, they just won't be focusing on it.
