The MacBook Air lineup has been refreshed by Apple recently and the laptops now have Intelís newest Haswell processors. The entry level MacBook Air model is a bit faster with a 1.4GHz Core i5 chip replacing the 1.3 GHz processor in the older version. On top of the processor change, Apple has dropped the prices of the new MacBook Airs by $100. The 11-inch base model now starts at $899 and the base 13-inch at $999.

According to its spec sheet, donít expect any other significant changes on the new lineup other than the pricing and processor. The base model still has 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Not much was wrong with the MacBook Air released last year, therefore, there was no reason for Apple to change anything significant. Intelís Haswell technology in combination with OS Xís effective energy management, has resulted in users with an amazing boost in battery life. The life of each MacBook Air charge is 12 hours on the 13-inch device.
