Apple may still have its work cut out for itself inside the fast-emerging mobile markets of India and China, but all told, the company remains the top global brand. That's according to the latest published rankings of the Brand Finance Global 500.

ZeeNews out of London reported Tuesday that Apple is followed by Samsung in second place on the esteemed list. Rounding out the top ten are Google, Microsoft, Verizon, GE, AT&T, Amazon, Walmart and IBM.

However, just because Apple is at the top of the pile doesn't mean that it's the most powerful of the entire lot.

While Apple has been ranked as most valued brand, the annual study conducted by brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance said that it is Ferrari which is the "world's most powerful brand".
"The legendary Italian carmaker scores highly on a wide variety of measures on Brand Finance's Brand Strength Index, from desirability, loyalty and consumer sentiment to visual identity, online presence and employee satisfaction," the report summary reads. "Ferrari is one of only eleven brands (including Google, Hermes, Coca-Cola, Disney, Rolex and F1 racing rivals Red Bull) to be awarded an AAA+ brand rating and has the highest overall score."
