Well, the only highlight in all of this is at least the "Get Album Artwork" button is now starting to work for their albums.

Most likely a marketing trick, But its a pretty cool one if you ask me. Lets say that the apple.com website had around 1.000.000 visits in the last 20/25 minutes.. with an interest of 1 percent it would mean that they will sell 10.000 albums today,

Would be a great server check, Christmas check for uncle steve and what the heck it would amuse all the people who like the Beatles.

They wouldn't sell a fairly significant amount of them today otherwise? You can't go into iTunes without seeing it. They'd hit 10k today no matter what they did.

That is true, but still it caught the attention of allot of people in like 15/20 hours of time.
They are just making a point to them self and also the world. Ask yourself this question, how could you interest over 10 million people in a short amount of time?

Most of them are bored and disappointed at this moment but they did it.

If your over the hill and was alive back then maybe I could see why but really when the majority of people that use iTunes are from 7-45 years old possibly 50 and the majority is 16-28, ps this numbers are my guestimate

Let it be known that no numbers were hurt during this reply but hearts did sink when they saw apples greatest hip

That's a pretty ignorant statement. So based on your logic, most people only enjoy music, books, and movies that were released in their generation? I guess I should put down my copy of Leaves of Grass (1855) and find a copy of Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown?

You deserve about 100 of these and 500 slaps
The beatles have influenced the world in a way no human has ever. They were the original celebrities. They make the crowds Justin Beiber gets look like a couple of five year olds. Try and go into any section of music that the beatles didnt influence, there aren't any. They are the singal consensous best group of all time, sorry Rolling Stones, your a close second

The Beatles are great. Best ever. No one better. The news about iTunes, not so much. Though what I find interesting is that no one is talking about how, finally, Apple and Apple have buried the hatchet over who owns the name. I've been following that one for years. So now they both will make a big pot of money. And people can buy Beatles tunes for less than a buck-fifty. Instead, go buy the albums, put them in your CD player and play them loud. Turn the lights out, close your eyes, and listen.

Dan Brown? Please, no. That's not literature, in my opinion. Though, Stealth, there are good modern writers, I'm in agreement that many people of a certain age are not aware of the fact that there are artists and writers older than them that are great. Without the Greeks, we have no hero stories. Without the Enlightenment, we have no modern fiction. Without the preceding, we have no modern movies or writing or art or music. It's just that modern secondary schools don't really present too much info on those areas - too busy trying to not leave a child behind or have someone pass an exit exam to actually teach real culture. No time.

haha yea I just picked an author that he might know. As far as modern writers, I am a big Cormac McCarthy fan

I like Neil Gaiman (not all but quite a lot of his work), but really get gooey over Raymond Chandler, Alexander Dumas, Elmore Leonard, Stephen Hunter (a somewhat guilty pleasure), John McPhee (non-fiction), Walter Mosely, and reading The New Yorker every week (great writers there). Look at us on a phone site discussing literature.
