Default Ipod Touch 1g can't get into DFU mode
For some reason I can't get my ipod touch into dfu mode. It's a first generation ipod touch. I downloaded the 3.0 firmware from some website, then updated to that. But when I couldn't go into dfu mode, I thought maybe it was the firmware for some reason. So since I had it in 3.0 already, itunes let me download it off their server, so then I restored using that firmware. But I still can't get into DFU mode!! Any help appreciated

What is happening with your computer during the attempts of going into DFU mode? Is it undetected? Detected but wont do anything? Unresponsive? Are you sure that you are going into DFU mode and not messing up the process to get into said mode? Have you tried recovery mode?

    1. Hold power button for 5 seconds (to turn it off).
    2. After holding the button for 5 seconds, also press the home button for 10 seconds (WITHOUT RELEASING THE POWER BUTTON).
    3. Without releasing the home button, release the power button, but KEEP HOLDING the home button for 30 seconds.

    There you go.
