I have 2 questions the jail breaking link doesn't work and when I download the 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 should they just stay there or do I put them on my ipod?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the informative post
I have followed it step by step and got to the part where I open the windows batch file from the 1.1.2 jailbreak folder.
When I open it a box flashes open and closes very quick and then nothing else happens.
Upto then it all went great.
I have tried it twice but still the same thing happens.
Do you know what the problem could be or what im doing wrong?

    Many thanks,
    Ray

The only thing I can think of is that you didn't install OkToPrep before upgrading to 1.1.2. Oh, or make sure you have Java installed. I didn't write the program so I really have no idea what could be happening, I never had a problem with it on mine.

P.S. Make sure iTunes is closed.

You look like you have all the right sources. The problem appears to be that the Dev team has changed the name of their upgrade. Look for a 1.1.3 upgrader that has Conceited Software or DevTeam in the contact section.

The DevTeam has created a new way to jailbreak 1.1.3, it's now under system in the categories and a lot easier to use. I've updated my guide to follow this.

    Some of my experience here

I tryied 3 times to upgrade to 1.1.3

    First time
    I was on 1.1.1 jailbreaked
went to 1.1.2 sucessfully but when i tried to jailbreak it, my ipod started to freeze randomly, seems like it was doing some process (the blinking circle of wait).

    Second time
Started over recover to 1.1.1 everything good, this time i was able to jailbreak 1.1.2, but as you may notice the 1.1.3 jailbreak installation no longer exist, the name now is something named "Oficial 1.1.3 upgrade" so I used this one had some hangs on the procedure, but i just click on the icon on my springboard and it continued were it hanged.

This time i got a reboot, but then it started reeboting on a loop.. I thou it was because i was using the "incorrect" instalation package (but i was wrong).

    Third time
Started over on 1.1.1 jailbreaked on www.jailbreakme.com went to 1.1.2 jailbreaked it, downloaded the Oficial installer, when the file was downloading, it sometimes stoped and gave me the springboard screen, i just clicked the icon again and it continued where it was. This happened like 4 times, I just checked after a reboot if i was already on 1.1.3, until a loong wait, and a final reboot i was on 1.1.3 the installation icon dissapeared and i was on 1.1.3.

Be sure to put www.applerepo.com on your sources and patch your springboard first to be able to see your news apps.

    I just have one question

Is the @200meg file still on my ipod? if so, how can i delete it?

    Thanks.

    Default a couple of tricks
    hey -

i followed the tutorial step by step and it seems to be working wonderfully so far. Find below a couple of things I came across and worked out - i'm sure they might come handy for other people.

    1. I found the jailbreak app for OSX here. Scroll down to step six and there will be a link for it.

    2. After I ran the jailbreak app, the iPod touch was stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon + cable on the screen). To fix it, I launched independence and that snapped the ipod out of it

    hope this helps

    hey -

i sucessfully upgraded to 1.1.3 on my touch and everything seems to be working fine except the keyboard that freezes all the time. anybody else with this problem?

btw, after i installed the 1.1.3 apps, the app partition was full but it's really easy to move the apps to the media partition - tutorial here. Don't use the boss tool.

Just thought I'd point out that you're conceited Software link is not valid.

1.1.2 jailbreak files are here mate: http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

EditZ: Strange, they appear to have the same hyperlink. For the weirdest reason mine works and yours doesn't....

Hi! How come when I start itunes it won't let me see my ipod touch settings it just shows me the January update nag and when I click 'no thanks' it just shows me another nag screen with no input! The jailbreak process seemed to go fine. I cant see what music I have how much space or anything! Most frustrating!

The problem with the no ipod settings screen does sound really annoying... unfortunatly I don't know why it'd be doing that every person I've talked to that used this guide hasn't had that problem

Solution found! Apparently you just have to disable your internet connection before plugging in. This way it will not bounce you to the nag screen and allows you to carry on setting up your iPod. Bloody iTunes........

About 1-2 hours, depending on your internet connection. The new Ziphone method is much faster, under 5min.

    HELP!!!! I can't jailbreak 1.1.2

Ok so I just got the 32GB iTouch. it already comes with 1.1.3 as you all know. I can downgrade to 1.1.1 with no problems I got installer apps in there, I downloaded all the apps needed to upgrade to 1.1.2 which are Community Sources, BSD Subsystems and most importantly Oktoprep. Upgrading to 1.1.2 is not the problem because I can do that, the problem is Jailbreaking it.

I get one of two error messages:
First one says that it can't read my ipod that maybe its been disconnected. Or the Second one says that I need to install Oktoprep in order to cont.
Now I did this process about 4X's I upgraded to 1.1.3 then Downgraded to 1.1.1 & uprgraded to 1.1.2. and i always ened up at the same problem JAILBREAKING THE FU!KIN' 1.1.2.
    Can anyone HELP.....Thanks in advance
I'm starting to believe that it won't work with the 32GB ipods

(P.S. I close all the ipod app on my windows...ituneshelper etc.... Oh & that ziphone app thats out that didn't work either)

    Default There's an easier way!
There's an easier way to jailbreak to 1.1.3 but it's only been tried on a 8 g ipodtouch. It's Ziphone, all you have to do is upgrade to 1.1.3, or if you already have restore it. Then download Ziphone version 2.4 open it and then press jailbreak! It takes less then one min.

Just upgrade to 1.1.3 and then jailbreak that!
