    Default jailbreakme.com?
Has anyone tried using jailbreakme.com on their ipod touch?
A friend of mine wants to be able to add apps to his, but he doesn't know anything about computers and lives far away from me. This method seems really easy and safe - he could probably do it without screwing it up...

Also, would this method (using the TIFF exploit) cause a danger of being screwed up with future updates. He'd be so pissed at me if I helped him do this, and then one day he couldn't use his fancy toy...

    any input?
    TIA.

I did search before I posted.
That link you gave is for a thread that does not have any info about using jailbreakme with the ipod touch. I am not looking for info about the iphone.
I figures this discussion should be in the specific ipod touch forum.

    thanks anyway.

    From the MMi Homepage:
Its as easy as opening Safari on your iPhone/iPod Touch, and browse to jailbreakme.com.

i've seen that too, but i have yet to see comments from anyone who has actually tried it on the touch. This isn't my ipod, I do not want my friend to be a guinea pig for me.

I totally would if it were my own - but I don't feel right doing that to my friend,
who as I mentioned, is totally clueless about computers. He's had the ipod since it came out, and I only just convinced him now to let me mod it...

Its safe, if the worst happens, he just needs to restore the ipod.

It worked fine for me and the other 2 I did for my friends. The only thing I can say is that your friend should research apps before he installs. I froze mine with something from a source called hightymes. I thought it was over for me but I successfully brought it back to its default Firmware. Worse comes to worse it can always be restored.
I would have my URL here so you could hear our music but apparently that's sig spam. WTF?
