Last Thursday, Apple launched a new 16GB version of their iPod touch 5g with a 5 megapixel rear-facing iSight camera for just $199 to replace the one Apple had been offering without the camera. It's available in all of the same colors as the 32GB and 64GB models of the iPod touch 5g, and prices of existing iPod touch 5g models have been reduced to align with the new 16GB model.

The new member of the iPod touch 5g family is, starting Tuesday, now available for purchase internationally in countries such as the U.K., Germany, and several more. Beginning with the initial launch Thursday of last week, the device was only available in the U.S., but the stretch to international territory gives Apple a larger customer reach.

iFixit recently published a tear-down guide on the new 16GB iPod touch 5g and found that the device had no significant changes over the previous version or the existing models of the device, apart from the camera change. The device scored a 3 out of 10 repairability score, which is relatively poor.

The iPod touch 5g runs iOS 7 out of the box and will be capable of running iOS 8 when it's released to the public in the Fall of this year.
