Thread: Dev Team 1.1.1 Jailbreak

  1. #521
Is the dev.team going to create a program to jailbreak/activate the iphones with fw 1.1.1 instead of using commands to unlock the phpne?

after running iphuc i get this
    "/dev/disk0s1 / hfs rw 0 1
    /dev/disk0s2 /private/var hfs rw,noexec 0 2

If you can't sync (you have the 300mb error) follow the instructions in the last step of Dev Team Install BSD World 1.1.1 Windows

you didn't do the prior steps correctly... the rm command is one of the files you should have transferred earlier. Go into (root/bin/ in WinSCP and make sure you see a file called 'rm'. Right click and it and go to properties. If it doesnt already say 0755 in Octal (the last textbox) change it so it does. Hit ok.

Also, try rebooting your phone and then reconnecting for step 4

You do not have a bsd subsystem installed so you don't have an rm command to execute.

Are you mac or PC? Either way I'd recommend getting installer.app up and running and using it to install the "BSD Subsystem" package I think that's a lot easier of an approach long term because so many installer packages want you to have it and won't recognize bsd world. (ApolloIM for one).

http://modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9667 Take a look here, regardless whether or not you are windows or mac you can follow my steps once I instruct you to deviate from the normal dev team approach it's just a matter of which tools you use if you're windows use putty for ssh and grap pscp from the putty website and use that for scp (SCP IS NOT THE SAME AS SFTP winSCP is confusing for many people to use as an scp client I'd really recommend grabbing pscp then you can just use the commands exactly as I have them in my tutorial just substituting pscp wherever I have scp)

The dev team tutorial is great and it's actually what I used the first time I did a 1.1.1 upgrade I just found this to be a little easier and several friends I've walked through it were able to follow it without issue. Let me know how you make out.

when you installed the BSD subsystem you must not've been at the absolute root ('/') then

when you see the rm file make sure that the path is "/bin"... nothing else before or after that
