    here is the fix

    download this file http://iphone.natetrue.com/au.asn.uc...dropbear.plist

Open up a cmd window in windows
    CD to the shhkit folder
run iphoneinterface in the command prompt.
    Now do:

    putfile /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/au.asn.ucc.matt.dropbear.plist

restart the phone and then you can SCP in using winSCP

by the way, i had to jailbreak, restart my phone and then re-jailbreak to get fstab to have 2 - 'rw's and not 1 - 'rw' and 1 - 'ro'

no, when you downgrade the modem firmware stays at 4.xx. your phone is still usable and ok... continue with jailbreaking

Question: when i do the BSD world thing- am i suppose to do that while ssh'd into the phone?? Becuase your readme version leaves me with that impression.

hmmmmm.. I wonder if this has anything to do with me running Niacin's Tiff exploit?? Interested....

However I did a restore after that and before running the dev team 1.1.1 jailbreak process and I was under the impression that the tiff exploit goes away with a restore... so I doubt it... just a though...

In OSX use the terminal and just run commands like this:

if you're just copying one file to the iPhone do this
scp <filename> [email protected]<ip of your iphone>:<directory on iphone you are trying to copy file into>
so for example if you're trying to copy a file called filename.txt over you would do this:
    scp filename.txt [email protected]:/Applications/

if you are copying a bunch of files do this
scp -r * [email protected]<ip of your iphone>:<directory on iphone you are copying into>
so to steal the example of this from the BSD World install:
    scp -r * [email protected]:/

When doing the multi file method put the files and directories you are trying to copy into a directory on your mac and make sure you are IN THAT DIRECTORY in terminal BEFORE running the scp command or you'll end up copying all the files and directories to your iPhone from where ever you happen to be.

When this works it should prompt you for a password on your iPhone the password is "alpine"

If it doesn't work try rebooting your iPhone in case ssh is hung up.

http://www.modmyi.com/wiki/index.php...orld_1.1.1_OSX talks about using scp a bit.

    -- Good luck!

Everything works great, except for maps. This is important to me and won't work... Any suggestions?

tried it, says "Installer.app not a regular file"

This is getting sucky, but i'm willing to try anything.

Doh, I'm a moron sorry about that installer.app is actually a directory (as are all .app files in OSX, they are actually just special directories)

    Anyway do this

    scp -r Installer.app [email protected]<iphone IP>:/Applications/

that should do it for ya

I can get full access to the phone via iphonebrowser, can I install the files for ssh and bsd in that way?

If so, where should I place the SSH files? The BSD directories just go into the root, correct?
make sure that you dled the ssh kit. They link to one here that someone "modified" but from the four times I used it it didn't work. Sure google for Nate trues shh kit. Also I downloaded the ssh kit for mac and put the au.bear...plist whatever its called on the iPhone. I know it sounds confusing but someone named milk explains it much better a few pages back. I tried it and I can assure you it works.

Ok, I'm at the last step, trying to remove the symlink.......when I do the command I get this:

    /private/var/root$ rm /var/root/Media
-sh: line 43: rm: command not found

If I do a ls, I get this.....
    /private/var/root$ ls
    Library
    Media
    Media.old
    bin
    lib
    sbin
    usr

any suggestions to remove the symlink??

You have to install a bsd subsystem of some sort to have the rm command (as well as many others)
