Default New Report Claims that Apple is Unlikely to Launch the 'iPhone 6c' This Year

Previous reports claimed that the Cupertino-based company was working on a few iPhone models to be released later this year and a 4-inch one was on that list. Kuo has been pretty on point with his predictions in regards to many Apple products in the past. Therefore, the probability of him being right about this statement is pretty high. However, he did note that Apple would be releasing a 4-inch device next year instead with Apple Pay compatibility.

Kuo also stated that Apple would be discontinuing its low end iPhone model, the 5c later this year and the iPhone 5s would replace its place instead. This is all to presumably happen when Apple launches their iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in September of this year. According to the report:

iPhone 5S still going strong; next 4-inch likely in 2016. Shipments of 5S are still going strong at 5-7mn units every quarter, an impressive level at such a mature stage of the product cycle. Momentum is being sustained by a more affordable price and the productís outstanding design. But we still believe itís necessary for Apple to have a new 4-inch iPhone because: (1) it will be key to extending momentum in the 4-inch category; and (2) it could complete the Apple Pay ecosystem, assuming it is equipped with NFC. We predict a launch in 2016.
Foxconn has already been reported to be the primary manufacturer of the iPhone 6c in 2016. Kuo predicted earlier this month that the 4-inch device would be very unlikely to be released this year, as the company is looking to put their focus on the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The 5s has such a stellar design. It's no question that consumers still love it.
