Default 'VolumeBanner' Gives You a New Banner-style Volume HUD With Colorization & More

If that stock volume HUD in iOS just isn't doing it for you, then a new free jailbreak tweak called VolumeBanner by iOS developer CP Digital Darkroom should definitely get your excitement levels up.

This new tweak puts your volume HUD in a banner-style pop-up and even includes a built-in volume slider, as shown above. This way, you can make fine-grained volume adjustments from the banner without having to press your volume buttons over and over, which will significantly reduce the wear and tear on your volume buttons over time.

Yes, the VolumeBanner tweak is customizable. Although we enjoy the basic styling we're showing you above, you can actually take it much further with additional blur effects and colorization effects. The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure a large variety of options:

The things you can do here include:

    • Toggle the tweak on or off on demand
    • Have the banner appear at either the top or the bottom of the display
    • Choose the blur style you want for the banner
    • Choose the slider style you want for the banner's volume slider
    • Choose the height you want for the banner
    • Choose the tint color you want the banner to have

The banner tint color is chosen through a color picker, so you have limitless capabilities. You can also use the built-in RGB and alpha sliders for more fine-grained control.

If you're interested in giving VolumeBanners a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. iOS 8.0 or later is required to install VolumeBanners, so keep this in mind.

    Name: VolumeBanners
    Price: FREE
    Version: 0.0.1-78
    Requirements: iOS 8.0-8.1.2
Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1.2
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: CP Digital Darkroom

I'll stick with StatusHUD 2. Minimal and looks great.

I'm not sure why but that tweak always crashed my phone. I want to try this one but I'm no longer jailbroken. Gave that up during the 8.2 beta. Now I'm on the 8.4 beta.

Only working for Ringer volume. Not when I'm watching YouTube. I still see the HUD when watching YouTube. Anyone else?

You should have tried StatusVol X then, same thing and stable on iOS 8.
