Default How to Add Some Slick New Animated Particle Dynamic Wallpapers to iOS 8

Starting with iOS 7, Apple added the ability to have dynamic wallpapers, which are animated wallpapers, on both the Lock Screen and the Home Screen to allow for a more customized animated appearance that vary over time rather than a static image that just always looks the same.

Unfortunately, Apple only gives you so many to choose from, and many people find them to be boring. If you're jailbroken, and are interested in adding a little more variety, iOS developer Evan Swick has just released a new dynamic wallpaper pack in Cydia called Particle Wallpapers that may be worth taking a look at.

The new wallpaper pack gives you some new animated particle dynamic wallpapers, which can be discovered under the Dynamic section of the wallpaper selector in the Settings application, as shown above.

Below, we've applied the multi-color one so you can see what these particle wallpapers look like when they're applied:

As you can see, there is a lot going on in the animation. These are some nice high-quality animations with smooth color and fade transitions originating from the center of the screen and spreading out to the edges, like a radiant animation.

The pack includes the following color choices:

    • Red
    • Green
    • Blue
    • Yellow
    • Purple
    • Cyan
    • White
    • Multi-color

Please note that after applying one of these custom animated dynamic wallpapers, that a respring or reboot is necessary to save them. If you don't then your changes won't be applied.

If you want to give the Particle Wallpapers pack a try, it's available for 99*in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. iOS 7 or later is required to use these wallpapers.

    Name: Particle Wallpapers
    Price: 99
    Version: 1.0.0-1
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-8.1.2
Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1.2
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Evan Swick

Most likely the same as using Apple bokah. The CPU usage seems to be the same as Apple's animations, around 35%.
