iOS developer PoomSmart appears to be having a lot of fun tinkering with the iOS keyboard as of late. The developer just released two jailbreak tweaks recently one being NoKeyPop, and another being SmoothPop, and he had just released another one called SmoothCursor that you'll find under the Changes tab in the Cydia application.

SmoothCursor is an interesting animation tweak for iOS that ports the smooth Office 2010 typing cursor animation over to iOS devices running iOS 4 or later, all the way through to iOS 8.1.2. You can see what the tweak does via the animated .gif image above.

It's different from the iOS cursor animation because instead of moving one tick at a time, the new SmoothCursor animation appears to flow from letter to letter as you type. It's less jittery and more fluent. Of course, it's just an animation, so it's nothing more than pure aesthetics here.

If you're interested in giving SmoothCursor a try, it's available free of cost from Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. There are no options to configure.
