Default 'CCButtonBorder' Lets You Theme Control Center Glyphs, Background, Colors, and More

CCButtonBorder is a jailbreak tweak brewed up by the many members of our local ModMyi theme community that gives you the power to really etch your own name into the experience of Control Center on your iOS 8 device. With it, you are granted the power to theme nearly any aspect of Control Center's appearance, such as how the glyphs look, the way the background looks, the colors used to represent text and figures, and much more.

Among those that helped make this project possible are thazar, vXBaKeRXv, boots, menard, chevymusclecar, and orangefreddie, all of which either had something to do with the development of the tweak, or the creation of some of the themes that come bundled for use with WinterBoard.

While you might be thinking that this is a simple color-switching tweak that is just going to colorize the interface and that's all, you'll be surprised to find that CCButtonBorder actually comes with a variety of options. You'll find a new preferences pane added to the Settings application, shown below, where you can access the options the tweak has to offer:

The main preferences pane is separated into sections – the first option you see enables or disables the tweak on demand, like a killswitch, while the second and third cells allow you to customize your theming and optimize your Control Center for the device you're using and the tweaks you're using with CCButtonLoader. The last section, labeled CClean, gives you tools for cleaning up your Control Center interface and removing the unnecessary clutter.

Under the theme section, you'll see it's split into an additional four sections. The four sections relate to four parts of Control Center, with the first being AirPlay/Drop & Brightness Settings, the second being the background settings, the third being glyph & toggle button settings, and the last one being settings for LightBox.

Each of the individual sections has its own respring and clear caches button, which is used to save your changes any time you make changes to the preferences pane here.

From the Air/Brightness settings, you can do the following:

    • Enabling or disabling rounded edges for the inside coloring
    • Configuring the edges of the inside coloring, including its edge straightness and color
    • Enabling or disabling rounded edges for the outside coloring
    • Configuring the edges of the outside coloring, including its edge straightness and color

From the Background settings, you have the following options:

    • Using an image for your Control Center background instead of a color
    • Using a custom color for your Control Center background
    • Configuring a color that will appear above the Control Center in the empty space
    • Removing the shading effect that appears above Control Center when it's opened
    • Removing the haze effect that appears over Control Center
    • BETA: A color overlay feature

From the Glyph & Toggle Icon settings, you can configure any of the following:

    • The color of the glyph icons and text when toggled on
    • The color of the glyph icons and text when toggled off
    • The color of the grabber at the top of Control Center
    • The color of the knobs for the brightness and volume sliders

The final settings, for LightBox, give you the following options:

    • Hiding the LightBox (the image that appears behind the icons)
    • Always illuminating the LightBox images (toggles always appear on)

It does a nice job giving users the power to paint their own appearance for Control Center in iOS 8 and the additional themes that come with the tweak give users a place to start if they're feeling skeptical of completely changing things up manually. Use of the built-in themes requires installing WinterBoard, which is not a dependency for CCButtonBorder, so you'll have to install it manually if you don't already have it.

Moreover, you're not limited to the themes that are built in. You can get your own hands dirty using the tweak's included documentation in order to create your own themes, or to match up with a theme you're already using.

CCButtonBorder, also referred to as CCBB, is a free download in Cydia's ModMyi repository in Cydia and aims to bring back the customization that we had in iOS 7 over to the iOS 8 platform. Check it out!

Ccbuttonborder is the best tweak around. Those guys work there butts off updating it with new options and fixing bugs all the time. The best thing about thazar & vXBaKeRXv is they will try and help you with any problem you are having. Not like some of these dev's that make a tweak never update it to fix issues with it or respond to any help questions. Plus they don't ask for a penny.

Is there a version of that link that would work on mobile? Or maybe just what page it is on that thread so I can find it?
