Default 'PrivateViewing' Keeps People You Show Photos to From Viewing Your Whole Camera Roll

Have you ever had a situation where you attempted to be nice and show someone a photo on your phone, but they ended up taking your phone and scrolling through your entire photo library instead of only viewing the one photo you wanted to show them?

If so, you're not alone and iOS developer nin9tyfour has just released a new jailbreak tweak called PrivateViewing that can prevent people like that from invading your privacy, while still allowing you to show them the photograph that you want them to see.

With PrivateViewing installed on your device, when you open a photograph from your Camera Roll or from the Messages application, you will notice a new lock icon on the bottom toolbar in the application, as shown above. When you tap on the lock button, the photograph opens in a separate view so that there is no longer a way for the user to swipe forward or back to the next or previous photograph. In turn, you have protected yourself from prying eyes.

What's more is you can password protect leaving the separated interface so that the user can't leave the isolated photograph interface without entering the password you have set. This means that no one can leave the interface showing the photo you want to show and go back and start looking at the rest of your photos.

PrivateViewing adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak individually for the Camera Roll and for the Messages application, as well as configure the password you want to use for security (a vibration option is also available as a haptic feedback option):

If you're interested in giving PrivateViewing a try for your privacy needs, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for just 99. iOS 8 is required to install and use PrivateViewing.

    Name: PrivateViewing

This would be good if they implemented a scrolling lock feature where you could choose multiple photos instead of just one

If you put the pictures in an album by themselves this will stop people looking though the rest of your library

Unless they backed out of the album into the rest of the photos.
