Default Report: Apple to Launch iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, & iPhone 6c in the Fall of 2015

While Apple recently released a maximum of two different kinds of iPhones for consumers the last two years running: the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in 2013 and the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 2014, Apple could be planning to release up to three different handsets for consumers in Fall of 2015.

A recent report from Digitimes indicates that Apple is purportedly working on not only upgraded versions of its 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones, but is also working on a new 4-inch iPhone. The iPhones would be named, respectively, the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and the iPhone 6c, as the report details.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would keep the larger display sizes that consumers have been gobbling up since their initial availability in 2014, while the iPhone 6c would act as a sort of support for the legacy 4-inch size that some are refusing to give up on due to the comfort of holding the device one-handed and reaching every part of the display without uncomfortable finger-stretching.

So far, these new handsets have been rumored to have RAM upgrades, Apple-branded SIM cards, and even support for Apple's new Force Touch technology that was first introduced on Apple's new MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks. Moreover, Apple will reportedly re-use the A8 chip in the iPhone 6c, and create a new A9 chip for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. These would give the devices improved performance, usability, and reliability across the board.

The devices may also ship with Apple's upcoming iOS 9 mobile operating system, or could remain on iOS 8, as the "biggest iOS release ever" has been rumored to stick with users for a little while longer than older operating system updates to improve the reliability and stability of the operating system as a whole.

6s for me. I'm actually looking forward to a little bit larger screen than I have with my 5s (and previous 3G & 4S).

I have a feeling that it will get a metal frame this time with a plastic back, especially if they don't add TouchID. If AppleWatch doesn't take off then t'll certainly get ApplePay even if it doesn't get TouchID (AppleWatch adds ApplePay to older devices). They know that there is demand for 4" premium phones from the former flagship buyers so they'll want it to double as a flagship device.

Ditto. I've been on the off rotation since my first iPhone (3Gs/4s/5s) and am really looking forward to seeing what other tweeks they add to the 6s by the time September rolls around.

Variety is the spice of life! Its an excellent offering. I feel Android is going to get slammed once Apple comes with the Trilogy of phones :]

Yeah.. I agree with you.. They already got HAMMERED and lost their '#1' position when 6plus came out.. Apple's smart not to fragment TOO much.. Some Android Fanboys will refer to this 6c thing as fragmentation akin to other Android phone manufacturers.. But it isn't since they all run on the same iOS..

So the 6c is a good idea.. Since the 4", 4.7" and 5.5" will all have the same aspect ratio.. That will make apps easier to develop.. There are so many screen size differences in the Android world that it makes it hard to optimize gaming and other apps to any one aspect ratio. This is another good move on Apple's part. I know SO many people that want a fast phone but just can't get over the 4" size of the 5/5S.

I am often frustrated using my 6. I like the bigger screen, but I found that I used my phone one-handed much more than I even thought. And even with extra large glove size hands like mine, one-handed usage is tricky at best and just annoying for reaching things on the opposite edge. I use the reachability sometimes, but it can be equally annoying to take that extra step.

If they can give it the 6S internals I'd be willing to pay the 6s price. If they put year-old internals in it like the 5C I hope they at least include include TouchId and ApplePay for me to be willing to buy it at a measily $100 discount to the 6S.

Looks like I'll be upgrading to the 6s Plus from my Plus. I currently have a 6 as well that I will hold on to when I sell the 6 Plus so I'll still have a working phone.

Now you have to admit saying "I've got the 6s Plus" is a mouthful. Say that really fast 3x lol.

For some odd reason I can't help but think that the failure to refresh the iPod touch for several generations is a move by Apple to kind of let it go.

This sucks. We want smaller screens but not the crap technology and old chips. Gives us a small screen but all the power of the big phone. I already have a tablet.

C'mon, dude.. Everywhere in life bigger=better.. You're asking for the laws of the sales universe to be overturned there..
