Default Apple Releases New Security Update for OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 & iPhoto Update

Apple has released an update for machines running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on Thursday that improves the security of the machines. The update has been dubbed "Security Update 2015-003 1.0" and doesn't do into any details about what the update actually helps with.

The update is recommended for all users of OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 because if Apple takes the time to release a security update for their operating system, then we know some kind of vulnerability has been patched that could have put users' data at risk.

Moreover, Apple has also released an update for iPhoto, which is supposed to make it easier for transitioning over to the new Photos application for Mac OS X when it comes out this Spring. It is recommended for anyone that actually utilizes the iPhoto application for Mac OS X so that the update goes as smoothly as possible.

Both updates are waiting for users under the Updates tab in the Mac App Store application. Installing the security update will require a reboot, so you will want to save all progress before you install the update to avoid data loss.
