Default 'Extended Networking' Adds New Networking Features to Your iOS 8 Device

If you think iOS needs some improvements to the networking features of the device, then a new jailbreak tweak called Extended Networking by iOS developer Integeritis may be for you.

This tweak, as the developer notes, helps you control the incoming and outgoing connections to your device by allowing you to basically blacklist specific URLs and and even ads in various Web views across your iOS device in multiple different applications, and can also prevent being redirected to other Web pages or App Store links from ads.

The tweak also gives you a new Notification Center add-on in iOS 8 so that you can see how much data you're using, which is great for those of you with limited data each month from your cellular carrier:

Extended Networking adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where all of its features can be configured by the user:

Here, you can enable or disable ad-blocking and configure your own custom ad-blocking lists, enable or disable ad redirecting, enable or disabling URL blocking and customize what URLs are blocked in terms of incoming and outgoing connections, and enable or disable a Notification Center widget for how much data you're using and configure what your monthly cap is, when the cap resets itself, and enable or disable push notifications for when you reach your limit.

Extended Networking seems like a really cool new tool for those needing more out of their iOS 8 devices. It's available for $2 in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now, so if this looks like something you could use, give it a shot!
