Foursquare has issued an update for its iOS application on Thursday with a feature that has been much requested by its user base. The latest version of the application that is now available in the App Store as of this writing is version 8.9.

The update gives users the ability to take advantage of a new tab entitled "Saved Places," where the user is able to view a history of all of the places they've saved. This comes in handy for when you come across a place you like and you want to go back again and need a reference point.

Additional improvements include more detailed pages about the places you look up so that you can see more about what friends are saying about places and whether or not the place has been deemed a "best of" out of all the other options out there.

iPad users will find themselves able to write tips in the latest version of Foursquare for iOS too, and all iOS device users will be able to benefit from the speed improvements and added bug fixes that make using the application much zippier and reliable after this update.

Existing users of the Foursquare application will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application, while those with automatic updates will have the update installed for them automatically. If you just want to download the latest version of Foursquare manually from the iOS App Store, you can also follow this App Store link.
