In iOS 8, Apple made some major changes to the SpotLight device-search interface on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Some have taken a liking to the new looks and new features, while others, not so much.

If you want to make your iOS 8 SpotLight look and behave more like that of SpotLight on iOS 7, then check out a new free jailbreak tweak called SevenSpotlight by iOS developer asdfdev2.

With SevenSpotlight installed, when you swipe down on the Home Screen to reveal SpotLight, you will notice that the blur effect doesn't appear until you begin typing in the search field, as shown above (just like iOS 7). Additionally, the Home Screen application icons move down with your finger as you swipe down (just like iOS 7).

In terms of features, you still get the iOS 8 functionality, but your user interface simply behaves more like that iOS 7, so this tweak gives you the best of both worlds if you were a fan of the iOS 7 SpotLight more-so than the iOS 8 SpotLight.

If you want to give SevenSpotlight a try, it's available free of cost in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak doesn't come with any options to configure.
