Tumblr's application for the iOS platform has received a welcomed update on Wednesday that brings the application a slew of new features and improvements for users to take advantage of.

Tumblr has received the ability to notify users of asks, answers, and fan mail, which is something that users have been requesting for quite some time now. Notifications that appear on your Lock Screen have also become more interactive for iOS 8 users, as users can now like posts and even follow people right from the notification by just swiping on the notification to reveal options.

Tumblr has also received support for 1Password, allowing users who log out to have their password stored in the 1Password application for greater security, and the other major feature that users will notice is that Tumblr now comes with a very easy way to clear the application's cache, which continues to grow as you use the application because of the various images that you load day-by-day.

Other minor improvements to the application include bug fixes, performance improvements, accessibility improvements, and even user interface tweaks for a much better user experience.

Existing users of the Tumblr application for iOS will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application; iOS 8 users with automatic updates enabled will have received this update automatically. Alternatively, both new and existing users are free to download the latest version of Tumblr for iOS for free from this App Store link.
