Default 'AppButton' is an Awesome New Way to Get to Your Recently-used Apps in iOS 8

AppButton is a really cool new multi-tasking interface for iOS 8 by iOS developer Steven Rolfe that changes the way you'll be able to move between your recently-used applications for good.

The tweak adds a circular button to your interface, which you can tap and hold and drag on to reveal a graphical list of all of your recently-used applications. The button is customizable, as you will find as you read on, and you can even move it anywhere on the screen that you want it.

Fortunately, if you can put up with it, then you can use it and enjoy it. After opening the interface with button, you can just rest your finger over a desired application icon, and then release your finger from the touch screen, and the application your finger was hovered over will open up.

AppButton adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure a variety of options:

The options you can configure vary among the following:

    • Choosing your favorite applications that you want to appear in the switcher at all times
    • Choosing between a white or black button
    • Choosing between a white or black application tray
    • Choosing a custom transparency level for both an active and inactive AppButton button
    • Enabling or disabling blur, border, and application highlighting
    • Choosing between swipe or tap controls
    • Configuring Activator integration for using AppButton
    • Choosing what will happen when the AppButton button is tapped or double-tapped
    • Having the AppButton button snap to the display's edge or not
    • Enabling or disabling application scrolling if more applications are in the background than can fit on the screen
    • Configuring a gesture for killing applications from the background
    • Enabling or disabling sausage fingers mode

Overall, AppButton is a great jailbreak tweak with excellent functionality and documentation all included within the tweak and it's options. If feels like it would be very fun to use on a regular basis. If you want to give AppButton a try, it's available for $1.49 in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. The tweak does require iOS 8 to be installed.

I installed Appbutton a few times but it doesn't show up, am I missing a step?

I installed too and it never shows up. Not sure if another tweak is conflicting.
