Spotify is launching an updated version of its mobile application on the iOS platform today that will give the application a new feature known as 'Touch Preview.' The feature has been explained by the music-streaming service in a blog post that the service published Thursday morning.

Touch Preview will make it easier for users to preview playlists, songs, albums, or artists before you even tap on the play button to listen to the media content. Spotify notes that to take advantage of the feature, you need only tap and hold on the screen and you'll begin hearing the music start playing so you can get an idea of what you're about to listen to.

Below, a video published on YouTube by Spotify demonstrates how the feature will work:

Spotify also notes that the updated application will include new swipe gestures; for example, you can now swipe to the left to save a song you're listening to to your own music playlist.

The updated Spotify application is reportedly rolling out to users right now, so it may take a few hours for it to reach everybody. Spotify for iOS can be downloaded for free from this App Store link.
