Default Popular 'panicLock Pro' Tweak Updated for iOS 8, More Features Than the Free Version

Just last month, we showed you panicLock [iOS 8] by iOS developer Ruslan Ardashev, a popular tweak that had just been re-released for iOS 8 to make it so you could protect your iOS applications from being opened by unwanted users. Best of all, it was free of charge!

The developer has just released a pro version of the newly-updated iOS 8-compatible panicLock jailbreak tweak, and the pro version is going to give you even more fine-grained control than the free version did.

With panicLock Pro [iOS 8], you will be able to use an Activator action to lock users out of your applications. Even if they know your passcode, with panicLock Pro [iOS 8] installed, you can just invoke your selected Activator action and then when they try to open the applications on your device that you have locked, they will appear to crash instead of launching.

PanicLock Pro [iOS 8] goes a step further than the free version of the tweak by letting you choose the applications that get locked when you enable the tweak via Activator. The free version of the tweak just locks every single one of your applications when you enable the tweak via Activator.

This way, when the user tries to open a sensitive application of yours, it will be more believable to the person being punked that the application in question is having a crashing issue rather than the fact that you're using a jailbreak tweak to protect yourself. This is because only one of your applications (or some) will appear to be having the problem, and not a more useless application, like say, Weather.

The tweak goes a step further by also hiding applications that you've selected from the App Switcher, that way they can't be accessed from there either.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure the applications that will be locked by the tweak, as well as configure an Activator action that you want to use for it:

The developer has a great video demonstration of the tweak at work on his YouTube channel, which we've included for you below:

If you're interested in giving panicLock Pro [iOS 8] a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for just 99. The tweak requires iOS 8 to be installed; there are other versions of the tweak available in Cydia for earlier versions of iOS. Activator is also required to make the tweak function as expected.
