If you were to pinch and zoom on a photograph inside of the grid view of an album in the Photos application of iOS, your iOS device would then zoom into the photograph to give you a closer look. This is known as photograph expansion. You could then use a similar gesture while the photograph was zoomed in to collapse the photograph and return to album grid view.

If you find these gestures useless, or often getting in the way of what you intend to do in the Photos application, then check out a new free jailbreak tweak called NoPhotoGestures by iOS developer PoomSmart.

With NoPhotoGestures, you will be able to enable or disable the gestures for zooming in and collapsing zoomed photographs independently. The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable each option on demand:

If you like the gesture to collapse photographs, you can leave that option enabled while just disabling the expansion feature. You can also do the exact opposite, or disable them all at once.

If you want to give NoPhotoGestures a try, it's available free of charge in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. The tweak requires that you have iOS 7 or later installed on your device to install the tweak and use it.
