Default How to Keep the Steam iOS App From Always Asking Your Age When Viewing M-rated Games

If you've ever used the Steam mobile application for iOS, then you know that the application always asks you for age verification when you're attempting to look at information for a mature-rated game, such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

While Steam had a good intention here to keep themselves safe legally if a non-mature user wanted to view information regarding a mature-rated game, those that very well know they're old enough to view this content always have to painstakingly enter this information to "verify" their age before they're allowed to view information related to the mature-rated game.

If you want to never have to enter your age again, then there's a new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia right now for you called SteamOldEnough by iOS developer Nick Gatti. With this tweak installed, Steam for iOS will no longer ask you for your age when you want to view the content of a mature-rated game.

Overall, the tweak is just a convenience measure made to help you get on with what you want to do without the painstaking age verification, and it works well for what it's made to do. On the other hand, if you're not a Steam for iOS user, then you can look the other way because there's nothing in this tweak for you.

The tweak doesn't come with any options to configure and works on all devices that are supported by the Steam application for iOS. You will want to have the Steam application for iOS installed to take full advantage of this tweak. If you're not already a user, Steam for iOS can be downloaded for free from this App Store link.

Apple needs to support logon IDs for their iPad devices, especially since people are now using them instead of computers.

I wouldn't say verifying your age is necessarily a painstaking act, but hey, to each his own. I always just adjust the year and never worry about the actual date...
