We reported earlier that Apple has plans on expanding Apple Pay to countries outside of the U.S. and was looking for an intern to join their London-based team. It has been noted that the Cupertino-based company will also be expanding the mobile payment system to China. Apparently, Apple is looking for an ‘Apple Pay Site Reliability Engineer’ in Shanghai to work 40-hours a week. The person taking on this role will be working with other employees from Europe and the U.S.

According to the position, the person will be focusing on both the “front line customer experience” as well as work with banking partners and network partners. The description of the position stated:

As a member of the Apple Pay SRE team, you're expected to not just find the issues, but to write code and fix them," the position description reads. "You'll be in all phases and layers of the application, and you'll have a direct impact on the experience of millions of customers.
Those looking to take on the role will need at least 5 years of experience in Java hands-on engineering and 5 years of relational databases experience. The person also needs to have a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or industry experience that is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. It has not yet been reported when Apple plans on rolling out the mobile payment system in other countries, but Jack Ma of Alibaba has expressed interest in partnering with Apple to come up with a payment solution for consumers in China.
