Default Nokia's New and Improved HERE Maps Are Coming Back to iOS in 2015

In 2013, Nokia released its HERE maps navigation for the iOS platform to try and compete with Apple's Maps, which were under fire for being inaccurate at the time. Unfortunately, Nokia's HERE maps were absolutely terrible and crashed and burned in such a way that it should never have been spoken about again. In fact, it was so bad, that Nokia actually went ahead and pulled their HERE maps application from the iOS App Store to spare their shame.

Nokia is speaking about its HERE maps for iOS once again, teasing a re-release of the mapping application in 2015. The application is already available for Android devices, but Nokia's iOS development team is still hard at work in trying to pick up the pieces of their last accident.

Nokia has posted the following teaser video showing the new Android HERE maps release that will soon be coming to iOS:

We're looking forward to giving the new HERE maps a shot once they're out and we hope it's a much better run than the first time.

Anyone know of a free iOS navigation app that is available RIGHT NOW and supports offline navigation? My friend needs GPS for everything and she is on a 2 gig plan. Her GPS habits kill her data.

Google Maps will allow you to save portions of maps offline, you just have to have a Google account to do it.
