Default 'Power Informer' Lets You Set Custom Battery Alerts At Any Percentage You Want

If you're extremely anal about your battery level on your iOS device and want a better fair warning of low battery than when you're at 10 or 20 percent, you can use a new free jailbreak tweak called Power Informer by iOS developer Grandfather Paradox to set up a more personalized notification scheme that alerts you at power increments that you want.

With this tweak, you can customize an alert to appear at any battery percentage that you want it to. In our case, we wanted an alert to appear at 75 percent, so we configured the tweak to display an alert at 75 percent, and we achieved the result above when our battery level hit 75 percent.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

From here, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, enable or disable the system-wide 20 percent battery indicator alert, configure a custom battery level to display an alert, configure custom battery percentage alert increments, and even customize the strings of text that appear on the low battery alert banners.

The text that you can customize include:

    • The battery alert title text
    • The amount of battery remaining text
    • The battery fully charged text
    • The dismiss button text

To start trying Power Informer, you can head over to Cydia's BigBoss repository right now and download the tweak for free. The tweak works with iOS 8 devices.

In stock iOS, there is no indication when the battery is fully charged. So when you mention that you can change the string of 'Battery fully charged', does Power Informer give an alert when the battery is indeed fully charged? Also is this the default 100% or the real 100% that includes the trickle charge too. Furthermore, can I customize the sound of the battery fully charged alert and can this alert be repeated? If the answers to these questions are currently no, I hope the dev can include them in his next update.

What about adding an audio alert?
