When you tap and hold on particular keys on the iOS keyboard, a menu appears that lets you select from a variety of accented and special characters, such as the one shown above. This is the case for several of the keys on the keyboard, such as N, O, A, E, and many others.

If you find that the special character menu gets in the way of your typing sometimes or you simply have no use at all for any accented or special characters and want to completely disable the feature from ever being in your way ever again, you can do that now on your jailbroken devices with a new free jailbreak tweak called NoLongPressKeys by iOS developer Infuse Dreams.

With this tweak installed, you will no longer be prompted to input accented or special characters on your device when you tap and hold on certain keys on the iOS keyboard. There are no options to configure, so if you install this tweak, it gets to work immediately and you'll have to uninstall it to get the functionality back again.

The tweak works on both iOS 7 and iOS 8. If you want to give it a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
