Default How to Hide the Annoying Photos Collections From the iOS 8 Photos Application

iOS 8 brought with it an all-new Photos application that includes a tab with Photos Collections. While many of us prefer to just have the album view available, like in iOS 7 and earlier, Apple doesn't really give us much of a choice once we upgrade to iOS 8.

If you're jailbroken and want to completely hide the annoying Photos Collections that you never use from the Photos application, you can install a new free jailbreak tweak called NoPhotosCollections by iOS developer nin9tyfour to do just that.

As shown above, with the tweak installed, the "Photos" tab that shows your Photos Collections in the Photos application is non-existent. The only tab you see is the albums tab, which shows your Camera Roll, Recently Deleted album, and any other albums that you may have on your iOS 8 device.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can actively hide or show the Photos Collections from the Photos application on demand:

If you want to give NoPhotosCollections a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. iOS 8 is required to install the tweak.
