Default 'CCLiveBrightness' Hides Control Center While Adjusting the Display Brightness Level

When you go to adjust the display brightness level on iOS 7 or iOS 8, Control Center's bright user interface can make it hard to distinguish the brightness of the display compared to the darker elements on the display. It also keeps Control Center from blocking a large portion of your display that you might use to decide if the display is bright enough while changing the brightness.

If you're looking to make it easier to see if the display brightness is right for you while you're adjusting it, then check out a new free jailbreak tweak called CCLiveBightness by iOS developer Josh Doctors.

With this tweak installed, Control Center will be hidden while you're adjusting the brightness via the brightness slider in Control Center, as shown above. When you lift your finger off of the display after you find a brightness level that suits you, Control Center re-appears until you dismiss it.

CCLiveBrightness adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand:

If you want to give this tweak a try for making it easier to change your display brightness on fly, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak is compatible with both iOS 7 and iOS 8.

    Name: CCLiveBrightness
    Price: FREE
    Version: 0.0.1-14

Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1
    Repo: BigBoss
