    It has been reported by MacRumors that mobile company AT&T, is having an unadvertised promotion right now involving Apple’s new iPhone 6 lineup as well as the company’s older models. AT&T will be giving customers a $50 credit on their bill when a new iPhone is purchased from Apple and upgraded to the company’s Next program. You can either purchase the device in store or via Apple’s online store. Purchasing the device using the Next Program will allow you to pay $0 down up front and choose between their 20, 24, or 30 month installment program.

    When the device of your choice, whether the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5s, or 5c is purchased, it needs to be activated for a minimum of 45 days. Consumers also have to already be an active subscriber on AT&T, which means new subscribers do not qualify for this deal. This unadvertised promotion will be running until 12/31/14, so if you are looking to buy a new iPhone, we’d hurry before the deal ends. Below is what will appear when you purchase an iPhone through Apple’s website and choose the Next upgrade:

    $50 Bill Credit Offer: Ends 12/31/14. Must remain in active and in good standing on Next for 45 days to receive bill credit on your AT&T mobility bill within 3 bill cycles. Upgrades only. Requires iPhone to be purchased via AT&T Next and activated on a qualifying AT&T voice and data wireless service plan. Offer may not be combinable with other credits, discounts and offers. Offer and terms subject to change and may be discontinued at any time without notice.

    I don't understand why anyone would choose AT&T. They cost more than any other providers and their service isn't any better. In fact, I would go so far as to say they have some of the poorest service available. (Of course that's not really saying much since most of them are crummy. LOL)

    A big reason I didn't buy an iPhone for the first several years was because I could get it only with AT&T.

    I just don't get it.

    It was the same reason I did not buy the first iPhone until the ability to JB and unlock. After that, I popped in my Tmo SIM and did my thing. I use AT&T now but my job foots the bill thankfully.

    AT&T isn't even close to as bad as you made it sound. It is way ahead of Sprint and PoverT-Mobile in coverage and speed.

    Yea right! I once had a 1 year contract, in writing, with AT&T. They hounded me because their computer showed 2 years. I went in with the physical contract, but they didn't care! SERIOUSLY! They kept hounding me even though I had the physical contract in my hand. THE ORIGINAL SIGNED CONTRACT!!!

    I don't understand why people believe in myths, superstitions, and their skygods, but they do. So you never used or haven't used AT&T for years, but you know all the above about them? You must be god, then. Let's all worship you.

    I love AT&T been with them since my first cellphone back in 95 and stayed with them when they became Cingular and when they became AT&T again, I've never had problems and I've had higher Bills lowered, they've treated me spot on!

    I've been with AT&T, T-Mo and Verizon. Each has had their ups and downs as the technology in their networks has evolved.

    For the past 3.5 years I've been with Verizon and have used my phone in MN, WI, MS, OH, IN, TN, KS, CA, IA, MO, NC, DC, VA, IL and NY. In many instances I've been traveling with people who were on AT&T. My experience has been that AT&T's reception has consistently trumped Verizon; often I've not had a signal while an AT&T phone next to me has strong to perfect connectivity. This has been consistent in urban, suburban and, especially, in rural areas. Then there's the text side of things. Bottom line, Verizon blows on this front. For example, a couple weeks ago I had 25 text messages delayed 24 to 28 hours from the time sent to the time they reached me – all in a burst.

    As one might expect I'm looking forward to moving to another carrier but have not decided which one it will be. As of this writing I prefer AT&T for their network, not to mention I like the fact that duplexing is possible on their network, something Verizon lacks. T-Mo's pricing is attractive but their coverage outside urban and suburban communities is spotty to non-existent.

    And so goes the cycle of disappointment with the state of the U.S. cellular landscape…
