There is so much more potential for the iOS 8 Lock Screen to show you more notifications at a glance, but because of the way that Apple has it set up, you can only see so many notifications at once.

A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed Roomy by iOS developer Phillip Tennen will increase the height of the notification area on the iOS 8 Lock Screen by moving the clock up and the "slide to unlock" text down, as shown above. The result is that you can see more of your incoming notifications at a glance without the need to scroll.

In our example, we were able to see one more text message than usual on the iOS 8 Lock Screen. Depending on the length of your incoming text messages, your results may vary you may see more, or even less. It also works with notifications from other applications on your device that have permission to show notifications on your Lock Screen.

Roomy works great with the larger displays of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but it can work nicely with older iOS devices with smaller displays when you pair this tweak with Ryan Petrich's LittleBrother jailbreak tweak, which allows you to control the zoom level of older iOS device so that the zoom level is more like the zoom level on the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Overall, Roomy has a very nice effect that many of you are sure to love, and we can't think of any reason that it wouldn't benefit you. If you want to give the tweak a try, it requires an iOS 8 device, and you can download it for free right now from Cydia's BigBoss repository. There are no options to configure.
