The popular Netflix movie-streaming application for iOS has been given a major update to version 7.0 in the App Store on Tuesday.

Netflix for iOS now supports iOS 8 and the latest retina HD displays of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The new support makes the application run more smoothly than ever on not only the new devices, but also on older devices that run iOS 8. The updated application for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus makes it so that users can see more content at a glance, by taking true advantage of the larger displays.

The application also now supports streaming of movies in 1080p high definition on the iPhone 6 Plus, which is the highest level of HD that the application has ever supported on the iPhone. Due to the nature of 1080p video, you will want a speedy and stable Internet connection to ensure that the movie loads smoothly without much buffering, so keep this in mind.

Existing users of Netflix for iOS will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Those that want to get started with Netflix can download the application for free right now from the App Store at this link. A monthly subscription is required you can read more on that at Netflix's Web site at this link.
