Following yesterday's update of Skype for OS X Yosemite 10.10 on the Mac, the company has followed up with an update for the iPhone version of the application Thursday morning. The latest version of the application that can now be acquired on the App Store for the iPhone is now version 5.7.

In this update, Skype is introducing some major improvements to the application to make the user experience better on the iPhone. First up, the application now lets you delete photos that you've sent or received from the chat interface to help reduce clutter and/or preserve your privacy. The company has also made it so that your chats all load much faster while you're trying to open chats that you may not have opened for ages, or that you've continued on another device.

Moreover, the Skype update helps maintain user avatars, by updating them to stay in sync across all of your devices. In addition, those who take advantage of the filters in Skype to help sort through their contact lists will be happy to hear that Skype has fine tuned the usability of the filters to make using them easier.

A variety of bug fixes and performance improvements have also been integrated in this version of Skype for iPhone. If you're and existing user of the application and want to update, you will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application ta no cost to you. Additionally, if you've never used Skype for iPhone before and you want to start, you can download the application for free right now from this App Store link.
