I get my 5s Monday. I'm hoping the updated version is out by then. Out of curiosity, are they going to make it a unified tool that can jailbreak 7.0-8.1 or will it be separate tools depending on the iOS version?

Anyone noticed that Safari keep having problem after jailbroken? Mine does. It keep showing a banner saying there's something wrong with the page and is reloaded. The page continuously reload over and over making it unusable. It happen to every page I go to, even google. I just restored my phone and I'm gonna wait it out for the next release. I have a iPhone 5S btw, 8.1

You must be new to jailbreaking then.

I've been jailbreaking since iOS 4, but I'm just not a fan of screwing up my device. I've never done much with SSH and am simply afraid of messing something up big time. Why not just wait a day or two for an updated version?

Perhaps not, but as someone with the same opinion I don't see a reason why not to wait as you seem to suggest.

My first time jailbreaking was jailbreakme on 3.1.2.

I don't know if that's "new to jailbreaking" but the condescending tone is appreciated.

You're acting new then with the whole "I like to tinker but not to the degree suggested". You jailbreak, install OpenSSH thru Pangu, use Cyberduck or whatever, manually upload 2 files, send a command, reboot, profit? Of course not everything is gonna work right now.

It's not that difficult, especially if you've been jailbreaking that long. Been jailbreaking since day 1, and that wasn't straight forward like what we've had recently.

see, but all that is much more than I've ever had to do to jailbreak. I've only really ssh'd into my phone when I was obsessing about themes, as it was easier to work on the iMac than in the phone.

my personal preference is to wait for a "standard" JB process (standard for me), fewer boot loops, etc.

    It's just my personal preference.

Plug in, turn off, power for 3, home and power for 10, home for 15.

I suggest trying HomescreenDesigner. While nowhere as easy and simple to use as Gridlock, you can accomplish the same things. (More features usually equals added complexity.) I like that I'm not limited to fixed rows & columns. Using the grid feature, I set 5 columns and 40 rows. This aligns all my icons vertically, but lets me vary where in each column I want them.

That's too many steps, Zok. Standard DFU entry is simply:
Plug in, turn off, home and power for 9-10, home for 6-8.
Works every time for me, for years.

    Or even:
Turn off, home and power for 9-10, home for 6-8, plug in.
Plug in can be at front or end of process.

Ah redsn0w... Always was my favorite jailbreaking method of the ones I used. Not sure why. Maybe fondness as it was my first.
