Default Why Athletes May 'Run' to iPhone-Compatible Mettis Trainer

In recent weeks, amidst a flurry of reports about the health-centric attributes of Apple's forthcoming smartwatch and an array of new wearable devices from across the mobile electronics landscape, we've heard ample projections about burgeoning consumer interest in technology that improves their health and wellness.

But according to the latest industry data and corresponding projections, health-conscience consumers and physically-fit workout warriors are more interested in technology hat serves a direct purpose, not merely another tool to monitor heartbeat, sleeping patterns, or other vitals. They want technology that tangibly provides a service that benefits their athletic or physical capabilities.

Consequently, there's enormous buzz today about casual and serious runners alike about Mettis Trainer, which is an upcoming mobile app and show insert compatible with iOS (and Android) devices. The Mettis Trainer is unique among health-centric technologies due to the important function it serves.

Trainer is a shoe insert with a sister app that informs a runner of each foot’s balance and pressure points for the purpose of correcting the way the foot strikes the ground.

“Mettis started out as an idea to help those suffering from problems with their feet and balance in order to relearn the proper techniques of walking,” the makers of Trainer explain. “In addition to providing people with new insights to walking, we quickly realized that the Mettis Trainer was much more than that. The Mettis Trainer can help in many aspects of life as well as almost every sport that requires you to know your balance and foot strike information.”

A release date hasn't yet been set, but we're told it will be soon as the team behind Mettis Trainer wants to get a running start -- pun fully intended -- as the wearables market heats up.

Not yet, they haven't made any mention of cost. However, I'd venture to guess it would be comparably priced with other fitness trackers, so no more than $100?
