Default Apple is Finally Approving HealthKit iOS Apps in the App Store Again

When iOS 8 was officially released to the public, it was followed by the bad news that Apple was pulling all of the HeathKit-enabled applications from the iOS App Store because of glitches and that the feature would roll out to customers later in the month of September.

With the release of iOS 8.0.1, Apple fixed the bugs in HealthKit to make it usable again; however, other problems in the iOS 8.0.1 operating system caused Apple to have to pull the update and fix additional bugs before finally releasing iOS 8.0.2 to fix not only the HeathKit problems, but also the problems in iOS 8.0.1 that were plaguing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users trying to connect to their cellular provider and use Touch ID to unlock their devices.

Now, with a stable release of iOS 8.0.2, which seems to pose little or no bugs concerning HealthKit and the improvements Apple aimed to have ready in iOS 8.0.1, Apple is reportedly approving HealthKit-enabled applications in the iOS App Store once again, which is not only great news for iOS developers who are taking advantage of the feature, but is also good news for users that want to get started with Apple's new health and fitness application in iOS 8.

9to5Mac notes that FitPort, a daily activity, health, and fitness tracking application, is one of the first HealthKit-integrated applications to hit the public iOS App Store since the new software update it's available to download for $1.99.

With Apple now finally approving HealthKit-integrated applications in the iOS App Store, we can expect to finally start seeing numerous applications taking advantage of the new iOS 8-only feature. Stay tuned for the latest!
